The Nature of Change - Keynote Speaker Jerome Foster II
A leading voice for Black visibility in climate action, Jerome Foster II has presented on stages around the world from the White House to the United Nations Climate Conference and has been featured in Time magazine, BBC, The New York Times, and more. Get inspired by Jerome and his work to create positive social and environmental change through art, technology, and policy. A Q and A session following Foster’s presentation will be moderated by RIT student Myren Bobryk-Ozaki.
About Jerome Foster II: With a background in software engineering and virtual reality development, Jerome is also the Co-Founder and Co-Executive Director of Waic Up, an international charity that mobilizes and empowers young people to vote, advocate, and take action on the most pressing issues of our time, such as climate justice, racial justice, and human rights. He studied International Environmental Governance, Policy, and Social Justice at Harvard University, and was invited to speak at the United Nations High Commission on Human Rights. He has also been recognized with multiple awards and honors, such as the Defender of Science Award, the Youth Environmental Champion Award, and the World Series of Entrepreneurship. Jerome is also a member of the White House Environmental Justice Council, and advocates for climate action, environmental justice, and other areas that affect the well-being of people and the planet. Jerome is driven by the promise of a world which lives by the ideals of economic, social, and environmental reciprocity and equity.
