About the “Conversations” Series:
“How’d they get there? Conversations with COS and CHST Alumni” are casual, 45-minute Zoom talks with alumni from RIT’s College of Science and College of Health Sciences and Technology. Degrees from RIT can open doors to exciting graduate, doctoral, and professional work all over the world. Join “Conversations” to find out how these alumni got from RIT to where they are today – and how you might be able to follow in those footsteps.

Speaker Bio:
Sesquile Ramon currently serves as Director Business Strategy for the Global Immuno-Oncology Franchise at AstraZeneca. In this role, Dr. Ramon leads the development of pan-tumor global business strategies. He works cross-functionally to identify gaps and opportunities for the IO franchise to advance its business goals and long term vision. Prior to joining AstraZeneca, Dr. Ramon worked as Director of Science and Regulatory Affairs at the Biotechnology Innovation Organization (BIO). There he lead policy strategy, advocacy development, and educational initiatives that promote a science-based regulatory environment within FDA and NIH. Prior to joining BIO, Dr. Ramon worked at the Office of the Director, Office of Science Policy, of the NIH where he was involved on a number of policy initiatives including the development of federal regulations on clinical trial reporting and the All of Us Research Program. Dr. Ramon completed his Postdoctoral studies at Harvard Medical School and Brigham and Women’s Hospital, has a Ph.D. and a master’s degree in Immunology and Microbiology from the University of Rochester, and a Bachelor of Science Degree from the Rochester Institute of Technology. He has published over a dozen peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts in immunology, cell biology, and medicinal chemistry.
