Bevier Gallery’s upcoming exhibit, “Crafting Democracy: Fiber Arts and Activism,” calls upon craft as a creative force to voice dissent and express hope in an era of political disruption.

Curated by RIT College of Liberal Arts associate professors Juilee Decker and Hinda Mandell, the show is on view from Feb. 14 to March 14. An opening reception is scheduled for 5 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 19. It is free and open to the public. Prior to the reception, an opening talk is scheduled for 4:30 p.m.

“Crafting Democracy” is a traveling exhibition that debuted in 2019 in the Central Library of Rochester and Monroe County's Anthony Mascioli Gallery. Learn more about the exhibit at craftingdemocracy.com. An exhibition catalogue published by RIT Press is also available: rit.edu/press/crafting-democracy.
