Professional Small-Talk and Cookies

Event Details
:

Making professional small-talk is an essential career skill, but you don’t get a chance to develop it in class. Join a casual group of friendly COS faculty & staff to make new connections over hot cocoa and cookies. No RSVP required; vegan and gluten-free options will be available. Not sure where to start with professional small-talk? Consider:

  • Bringing a friend to make it feel less awkward

  • Thinking through a few key ideas in advance, like what your career goals are or a question you'd like to ask people.

  • Planning your exit—it's okay to say you have to go to class if you're not sure how to end a conversation!

Be sure to check out our Small Talk Tips and College Mixer Survival Guide for more tips and what to expect.

Please send dietary restrictions and access needs to jclcos@rit.edu

Intended Audience:
Open to COS students, faculty, and staff.
