This session will showcase RIT’s leadership in cultural heritage imaging—an interdisciplinary effort that uses advanced imaging technologies to uncover hidden information in historical objects and artifacts. The team’s work spans local, regional, and international collaborations, including RIT international campuses in Croatia and Dubai and recent partnerships with the National Library of Colombia and the University of São Paulo. During this knowledge exchange, the presenters will:
- Provide an overview of how modern imaging tools can help to illuminate cultural heritage—literally and figuratively—enabling scholars to unveil information and more fully understand and interpret these objects
- Discuss the role of RIT’s Cultural Heritage Imaging (CHI) Lab in developing new tools & making them accessible
- Share about the expansion of the CHI Lab’s impact across the U.S. and beyond
- Provide time for Q&A
