Cartoonists pack information so densely into their drawings that modern-day readers may find deciphering older cartoons difficult – if not impossible. Join us on Wednesday, April 7th from 12-1pm as RIT Economics Department Chair and faculty member, Dr. Javier Espinosa, and Associate Professor of Economics Dr. Jeannette Mitchell decode cartoons by John Scott Clubb and Elmer Messner by contextualizing the economic issues of the times and how they relate to the economic issues we face today.

This talk is presented in connection with the digital exhibit, “Epidemics, Economics, and Elections: The editorial cartoons of John Scott Clubb and Elmer Messner.”

A link to the Zoom event will be emailed just prior to the event.

Interpreting services are available by request at http://myaccess.rit.edu.
