Research Idea Ring TalK: Detection of Deepfakes Using Image Kernels

Speaker: Devansh Lnu

Abstract:
This talk is inspired by the work in detecting malware by converting an executable into an image and using image classification algorithms on these images. Reading into various Deepfake related literature, one area that could be explored more is the application of various kernel and down sampling techniques to create an array of images that can be analyzed to detect Deepfakes. Such an approach would have the added benefit of being much cheaper to compute than other techniques being explored.
