*The forecast is for rain tonight, so we are cancelling t
he Open House. But we'll try again in the fall for another meteor-watching event.  See you then!"

On Saturday night, Apr 22, from 9:30 PM to 11:30 PM (weather permitting), the RIT Observatory will host a special "Chill and Space Rocks" event. On this night, the Lyrid meteor shower will reach its peak, and the crescent Moon will set early. It's an ideal time to watch for meteors! We invite members of the community to come and watch with us, in a very low-key, laid-back manner. Bring warm clothing, a blanket to lie upon, a pillow for your head, and a companion or two for conversation. Then relax and watch the sky while chatting about life, the universe, and everything. Think of this as a night-time picnic. The RIT Observatory is located at 645 John Street, near the intersection with Bailey Road, at the southeastern corner of the RIT campus.

The event will be cancelled if the weather is bad, so please check our website for updates around noon on Sat, Apr 22.
