RIT Celebrates Shakespeare: Music for The BardFeaturing the RIT Orchestra, New York State Ballet, and soprano Elizabeth Phillips.The RIT Orchestra is kicking off RIT's year of celebrating the 400th anniversary of the death of William Shakespeare with a concert of music inspired by The Bard. Movements from Mendelssohn's music to "A Midsummer Night's Dream" accompany dancers from the New York State Ballet. Soprano Elizabeth Phillips sings music Verdi composed for the last act of his opera "Otello" based on Shakespeare's play "Othello." The concert concludes with the colorful orchestral suite "Music for Shakespeare" by Grammy-nominated composer Edward Green. Free admission, donations accepted.
