Script Tease: We're Okay, We're Okay, We're All Gonna be Okay
SCRIPT TEASE: We’re Okay, We’re Okay, We’re all Gonna be Okay
by Gina Femia
A new play written for RIT School of Performing Arts in collaboration with The Farm Theater, NYC
Directed by Alexa Scott-Flaherty
February 14-15, 2026, 7:30pm
We’re Okay, We’re Okay, We’re all Gonna be Okay is a funny and moving examination of mental health and healing. The story follows a group of non-theater students at a college as they attempt to produce a two-person version of Hamlet. In the process they wind up navigating their own personal feelings around grief, mental illness, and ghosts. This new play, written by up-and-coming young playwright Gina Femia, is a collaboration with NYC theatre company The Farm Theater. The Farm Theater is currently connected with the Tony Award-winning Broadway hit, John Proctor is the Villain. That play, which recently had a Broadway run, started life with this collaborative process between The Farm Theater and universities across the country.
Content disclosure: The characters in this play are grappling with their own mental health, and the mental health of people close to them. The play touches on topics such as suicide, the loss of a loved one from a car accident, depression, and the possibility of supernatural occurrences.
SCRIPT TEASE: Staged Readings and Play Development Series
This stripped-down performance style puts raw acting choices at center stage. Performers will be cast from joint auditions at the beginning of each semester and will be joined by a team of student stage managers, lighting and sound designers, and dramaturgs. For each play, a focused rehearsal period will lead up to the public performance taking place in the Glass Box Theater where performers will have scripts-in-hand for our first two readings, and then be a part of a more fully produced show for our final developmental play collaboration with Farm Theater. After the reading, audiences are welcome to stay for our post-show dialogue to deepen their engagement with the script. Interpreters and captions will be provided. Performances are free to the public.
