Self-Care Week Day 5 Part II | GCCIS Guest Speaker: Director of Rochester Community Hygiene Bank Scarlett Aeckerle and Calling the Raffle Ticket
Scarlett Aeckerle has been a pillar in advocacy social work in the Greater Rochester region for decades. She obtained a B.S. in Social Work from RIT, an MS in Social Work from Syracuse University, and a PhD in Higher Administration from the University of South Carolina. She began her college teaching career here at RIT, then moved to be an adjunct faculty member in Roberts Wesleyan College’s Social Work Department. She also taught at Keuka College for over a decade. Now, she works as the Director of the Rochester Community Hygiene Bank and as an Outpatient Social Worker at Rochester Regional Health. Her talk will be on “Hygiene Poverty: A Growing Public Health Concern.”
The raffle will be picked and announced at 6 pm after Scarlett Aeckerle speaks.
Food will be available for those with meal ticket around 6:15pmish after the raffle ticket has been drawn and after our Guest Speaker from the Rochester Community Hygiene Bank, Scarlett Aeckerle, speaks.
Come by to grab a self-care week passport and speak with our RIT partners about self-care. Get up to 3 stamps or more to receive a self-care item!
Provide a filled-out passport at one of the self-care tabling events or swing by the Dean's office any time from 8:30 am - 4:00 pm.
We are also hosting a Hygiene Product Donation Drive from November 10 to November 14 near the Dean's Office. All items and proceeds from the raffle will be donated to the Rochester Community Hygiene Bank.
