The Global Health Association @ RIT welcomes you to a presentation by John Oliphant, PhD, PA-C, Associate Professor at RIT in the College of Health Sciences.  Dr. Oliphant serves as the Director of Medical & Dental Operations and as a Board Member for the NGO Restore Haiti (www.RestoreHaiti.org) and as a Board member for Our World Outreach (www.OurWorldOutreach.org).  He has extensive global health experience and has led multiple medical teams and done consulting work in Haiti, Liberia, and the Dominican Republic. While many people with good intentions volunteer each year to travel with medical teams to low- and middle-income countries, many of these missions result in unintended harm for those they intend to serve. Dr. Oliphant will share important information gained from his personal experience and his research with health care providers and healthcare leaders in Haiti, the country most visited by short-term medical mission teams.Pizza will be available on a first-come, first served basis.
