Spotlight on Deaf Education: Deaf Education Challenges at ASDB in the Post-Pandemic Era
How has the COVID-19 pandemic impacted the education of deaf, hard-of-hearing, and blind children?
In many aspects, the pandemic has affected the landscape of education. But how has it impacted Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and blind students and children? Join us as we welcome guest lecturer Annette Reichman, superintendent of Arizona State Schools for the Deaf and the Blind, who will discuss the efforts taken to educate ASDB’s Deaf and hard-of-hearing students and children during the COVID-19 pandemic. She will present on topics such as student behavior issues, discovering significant social and emotional developmental delays, behavioral and mental health challenges, learning gaps and academic delays, what returning to “normal” will be for them, and efforts to focus on students’ social and emotional development and growth.
Interpreting services and live captioning have been requested.
