Stories They Tell Exhibition Opening

Join RIT Archives and the College of Liberal Arts Museum Studies Program for the opening reception of a new exhibition now on view in Wallace Library. Curated by students, The Stories They Tell shares stories of the RIT community through documents, photographs, yearbooks, memorabilia, and other items from the RIT Archives.In a series of lightning talks, guest speakers will share personal stories and provide further context around some of the stories shared in the exhibition:Reno Antonietti, former Vice President of Academic Services and Computing, will discuss the original construction of Wallace Library.Joel Swartz will discuss the woodworking career of his wife, Dr. Ellen Swartz, one of the first women to graduate from RIT's School for American Crafts.Jennifer Gravitz, Chair of the Department of Liberal Studies at NTID, will discuss Alice Beardsley, who is affectionately known as NTID's first interpreter.Parth Sane, a current graduate student and President of RIT's Amateur Radio Club, will discuss the club's legacy.Wednesday, November 6 3:00pm - 5:00pm Wallace Library Exhibits on 1st and 3rd floorsLightning talks will begin at 3:15pm RIT Archives Reading Room (3rd floor)Light refreshments will be served.
