Talk and Demo with Concept Artist Danny Williams
RIT’s 3D Digital Design program is hosting noted modeler and concept artist Danny Williams for a daylong, engaging presentation. From 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, Oct. 17, Williams will lead a talk, followed by a live hands-on demo that welcomes audience discussion with the artist. Throughout the lecture and demo, Williams will show his process for creating character concepts and models for film and games. Students can ask questions and discuss tools and process during the demo, which will feature Williams taking a character from concept to finish. The event takes places in MAGIC Spell Studios’ Wegmans Theater and is open to the RIT community.Williams works for video game and film holding company Activision Blizzard. Prior to his current engagement, Williams worked at NCSoft, DreamWorks Animation and Blue Sky Studios. He has also instructed courses on character design and modeling at ArtCenter College of Design in California, New York University and School of Visual Arts.The event is also supported by the School of Film and Animation and RIT MAGIC Center.Above design by Danny Williams
