Global Collaborative Research

This panel will highlight the research of the 4 awardees of the 2024 RIT Global Faculty Research Grants and their lessons learned from working in cross-campus teams. This internally funded grant program was established with a focus on expanding research, scholarship, and collaboration across the RIT campuses. The 2024 Call for Proposals resulted in 23 submissions from 75 PI and co-PI faculty with representation from all of RIT’s global campuses and faculty from all of the RIT colleges. Preference was given to projects focused on interdisciplinary research with particular emphasis on the intersection of technology, art, and design with connections to AI, sustainability, data science, and cybersecurity.

This panel explores how faculty across disciplines are integrating artificial intelligence into teaching and learning. Panelists will share practical approaches, classroom experiences, assessment strategies, and ethical considerations for using AI in diverse academic contexts. The session highlights cross disciplinary practices that enhance student engagement, critical thinking, and responsible use of AI in higher education.

The session aims to foster cross-campus collaboration, identify opportunities for joint research projects, and strengthen RIT’s global research impact.
