Thought at Work 2023 Interdisciplinary Design Conference
The annual Thought at Work Conference is a student-run, student-focused, interdisciplinary event that takes place at the Rochester Institute of Technology. This year, we're bringing together experienced industry professionals with passionate students for a weekend of inspiration, collaboration, and instruction centered around the word emerge. Design is constantly changing with new techniques and technologies. With repeating trends, one may begin to feel as if everything has been done before. To create something distinct and find your own direction, you need to explore and experiment with different ideas and approaches. Paving a path to a new approach requires taking risks and challenging the status quo. Considering this, one might wonder if originality is a requirement for a designer's success. Designers must strike a balance between incorporating their own unique identity into their work or appealing to a universal audience.
