Tickets on Sale Now - NTID’s Ninth Annual DeafMute Banquet
The RIT ASL and Deaf Studies Community Center (RADSCC) hosts the ninth annual DeafMute Banquet on Friday, November 14, from 5 to 8 p.m. in the Dyer Arts Center, LBJ Hall on the RIT campus.
Join us as we celebrate the 313th birthday of Abbe de I’Epee and honor the accomplishments of Deaf innovators throughout history. I’Epee, known as the Father of the Deaf in education, founded the first free school for deaf people in Paris, France.
Tickets, which include dinner, are $35 per person and are now available for purchase. This event is open to the public.
Note: Seating is limited, and tickets will be distributed on a first-come, first-served basis. The deadline to purchase tickets is Friday, October 31.
Ben Jarashow, senior lecturer of liberal studies, will serve as an emcee for the event. Come and learn about the achievements of I’Epee and celebrate Deaf culture and the history of deaf education.
For more information or questions, contact Jeanne Behm, coordinator of RADSCC and ASL instructor, at jsbnss@rit.edu. To learn more about the tradition of the DeafMute banquet, visit RADSCC’s media galleries.
