As designers for medical diagnostic device manufaturer Welch Allyn, RIT alumni Tom Myers '96 MFA (Industrial Design) and Elaine Montambeau '18 MS (Human-Computer Interaction) are leading a presentation on campus about their experiences.Launched in 2016, Welch Allyn's RetinaVue camera and network is redefining the detection and diagnosis of diabetic eye disease. Myers (senior lead UX designer) and Montambeau (lead UX designer) will discuss the challenges of designing and delivering an effective solution to new users in the medical space. They are set to review the development history of the RetinaVue camera/network, as well as the research tools and techniques used in the design process. Product demos will follow the presentation. The event is scheduled for 4 p.m. Friday, Oct. 25, in Carlson Auditorium (Room 1125 in the Chester F. Carlson Center for Imaging Science).
