About Felicia Ferrone

Felicia Ferrone, born in Chicago and educated in the U.S., founded Fferrone Design in 2001. Her creative practice is shaped by her early career as an architect in Milan, working with renowned figures like Antonio Citterio and Piero Lissoni. This experience instilled in her a belief in the interconnectedness of design and context.

Ferrone’s work has been exhibited, distributed, and published widely, with commissions for brands like Audi, Boffi, and The Macallan. She is featured in Woman Made: Great Women Designers (Phaidon, 2021) and has juried for the Cannes Lions Festival, Archiproducts, and Core 77 Design Awards.

As clinical professor and director of undergraduate studies in industrial design at the University of Illinois Chicago (UIC), Ferrone encourages students to combine critical thinking with deep research. She previously served as director of graduate studies in industrial design at UIC (2015–22) and taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago (2010–15).
