About Lorraine Justice

Dr. Justice is currently the Dean of the College of Imaging Arts and Sciences at Rochester Institute of Technology. Prior to joining RIT she was Dean of the School of Design at the Hong Kong Polytechnic University. Her new book, China's Design Revolution, from The MIT Press, is now available.

China's Design Revolution

China is undergoing many changes and one of them is creativity. Confucian beliefs and cultural norms did not encourage innovation and creativity in China for over 2000 years, but China's focus has changed. Design and creativity are the new hope for China's economy and young generations have embraced everything new. Her talk will include a brief history of design and innovation in China along with current winning designs.
