Liaung Chung Yen, a contemporary jewelry designer from Taiwan, is delivering an artist talk presented by RIT's metals and jewelry design program. The free, public lecture is set for 2 p.m. Thursday, Sept. 25, in the metals and jewelry design studio (Booth Hall, 3632). 

About Liaung Chung Yen

Liaung Chung Yen was born and raised in Taiwan, and his jewelry is greatly influenced by Chinese art and culture. Yen views his work as an expression of the mind as well as small sculptures documenting the time and emotions in which he lives.

Yen received his MFA in metals and jewelry at Savannah College of Art and Design. Prior to this, he studied industrial art at the National Taiwan University of Art in Taiwan. He is a former visiting assistant professor in the metals and jewelry design program at RIT's School for American Crafts.
