VR/AR Symposium

On Friday, December 2, Frameless Labs and the MAGIC Center will host RIT's inaugural VR/AR Symposium in Student Innovation Hall from 10:00AM-6:30PM. Frameless Labs is a collaborative effort newly formed at RIT to bring attention to the research, innovation, and artistic creations built around Virtual Reality and Augmented Reality on campus.  These efforts already exist within many of the diverse colleges and departments at RIT; our hope is to bring this community together under one collective brick roof.  This is your opportunity to witness how your colleagues at RIT are exploring these emerging fields. The symposium will kick off with some morning coffee, introductions, and a keynote delivered by Flip Phillips from Skidmore College’s Department of Psychology and Neuroscience on the topic of the "uncanny valley in VR and AR". With 40+ presenters, the day will be filled with student and faculty talks along with demonstrations across a diverse blend of categories, including content creation, science, and VR/AR technology.  The day will close with a social hour and some live performances in the VR/AR space.  This event is free and open to the entire RIT community and to the general public.  No pre-registration is required. You are free to come and go throughout the day.The final schedule will be made available via our website by Thursday, December 1.  For more information, please visit:Facebook: Frameless Labs at RITWebsite: framelesslabs.rit.eduEmail: framelesslabs@rit.edu
