Zine Open Mic

RIT Zine Fest 2025 may be one day only, but RIT Libraries has zines available to borrow all year round. Let the celebration of zines continue! On April 1, come explore our collection of circulating zines, show your own zines, or share a fun zine fest find at our inaugural zine reading event!

This open mic is an informal opportunity for you to talk about a zine you made, a zine you own, or a zine of ours with an audience of fellow zine appreciators on campus. We'll provide coffee, snacks, and a relaxed environment. All RIT community members are welcome to share or just attend to see what campus zinesters are up to!

What is a zine? (pronounced 'zeen' - like the last syllable in magazine)

A zine can be defined as a self-published, small-circulation, mini-magazine. They can cover a variety of formats and topics, from basic booklets to more elaborate bindings, to digital publications. Zines allow for the publication of ideas and opinions that otherwise may not have a voice.
