More than 150 projects were on display at the 33rd annual Undergraduate Research Symposium on Aug. 1. The 400-plus students made public presentations about work done this summer with faculty researchers. Research projects represented work from all of RIT’s colleges.

Roberta DiLeo Benedict ’08 (physics), ’12 (microsystems engineering) returned to RIT to address this year’s undergraduate researchers. She was among the group when she began at RIT, and she shared her journey to become an experienced research-scientist with local company, Cellec Technologies, in lithium-ion battery development.

Chenxin Wang, a third-year biomedical sciences student, discussed the impact of glycosylation on bacterial motility. She began work with the Schulze Lab in the College of Science just over a year ago as part of her exploration into understanding cellular processes.
