Carichino presents at ophthalmology association meeting
Lucia Carichino, assistant professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics, and Narshini Gunputh, a mathematical modeling Ph.D. student, presented at the 2025 annual meeting of the Association for Research in Vision and Ophthalmology, May 4-8 in Salt Lake City. Carichino presented a poster on “Interactions Between the Eye and a Contact Lens: A Mathematical Model,” work supported by the NSF MPS-LEAPS award she received in 2023. Gunputh presented a poster on “Quantitative system model of the ocular immune response to seasonal allergic conjunctivitis.” Gunputh’s research is co-advised by Carichino and Kara Maki, professor in the School of Mathematics and Statistics.
