Formula team finishes fourth
The RIT Formula Racing Team finished fourth overall among 72 national and international colleges and universities at the recent Formula SAE competition, held June 11-17 at the Michigan International Speedway. It has been nearly five years since the team has had a car pass the necessary technical inspections that allow it to race at the prestigious Michigan competition, and it entered the highly competitive, all-electric category in the Formula SAE Electric class. The team competed in static and dynamic events with top-10 placements in acceleration (fifth place), skid pad (sixth place), and autocross and design (both seventh place). Its top-speed and top-five placement in the endurance race garnered needed points to put the team in fourth place overall.
