Kodak CEO Daniel Carp Speaks at RIT May 2

Carp’s address is among the featured events of RIT’s photo centennial celebration

Daniel A. Carp, chairman and CEO of Eastman Kodak Co., will be featured during a presentation at Rochester Institute of Technology—ranked nationally among the top providers of photographic education.

Carp’s address, RIT and Kodak: Reflections on a Century of Partnership, will be at 10 a.m. on Friday, May 2, in Webb Auditorium, James E. Booth Building, on RIT’s Henrietta campus. The event is free and open to the public.

An employee of Kodak for 33 years, Carp ascended the company’s ranks while holding positions in market research, business planning, marketing management and line-of-business management. He was named president and CEO in 2000 and assumed the responsibilities of chairman later that year. Among his academic achievements, Carp earned an MBA degree from RIT’s College of Business.

RIT’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences sponsors the lecture as part of its centennial celebration. One Hundred Years of Photography at RIT features a series of activities on campus and throughout the Rochester area May 1-3.

Highlights include an exhibition featuring photographs submitted by alumni, students, faculty and staff. The 100 Year Exhibition takes place from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Thursday, May 1, in the Frank E. Gannett Building. The schedule culminates with a commemorative gala the evening of Saturday, May 3.

Alumni and former faculty from RIT’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences are among the participants in this three-day celebration—offering guests reunion opportunities while providing a forum to examine current trends in photographic education and the profession.
