Mail distribution of safety items starts this week

Every member of the RIT community needs to take personal responsibility for their health, which in turn will help protect others in our community and help us to successfully navigate a safe and healthy fall semester.

One of the steps RIT is taking to create a safer environment is to send all staff and faculty a digital thermometer, and a pair of cloth masks and one see-through mask. The packages will be sent directly to the employee’s residence starting this weekend, enabling RIT to better track the distribution.

As a reminder, all faculty and staff are required to get a COVID-19 test and provide proof of a negative result using the RIT Employee Self Serve portal before coming to campus. Also, all faculty and staff are required to take the online training session and respond to a daily RIT Health Screen, seven days a week, even if you are not coming to campus.

The guidelines for safety in the workplace—including on-campus vs. remote work, meetings and events, symptom monitoring, COVID-19 testing, and more—are covered in the RIT Safety Plan and apply to RIT faculty, staff, and student employees.
