National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency Leader Speaks at RIT

Joanne Isham, deputy director of the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency, is the next keynote speaker in RIT’s Women in Leadership series. Her presentation, Reflections on a Career in the Intelligence Community, is at 2:30 p.m., Thursday, Sept. 15 in the Xerox Auditorium, James E. Gleason Building.

Isham is one of the highest-ranking women in the U.S. intelligence community. Her talk will provide a unique perspective on the intelligence community—its history, current status and future challenges. Isham will also highlight career opportunities for those interested in our nation’s security.

The National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency is a key member of the U.S. intelligence community and the Department of Defense. The agency’s mission is to provide timely, relevant and accurate geospatial intelligence in support of national security objectives.

The Women in Leadership speaker series features some of the nation's most influential women in business, government, technology and the arts, sharing their insights and experience in their respective fields. A series goal is also to inspire students, and RIT's women students in particular, to excel in their professions and to set high career aspirations for themselves. Past speakers include Col. Pamela Melroy of NASA and ESPN vice president Tanya Van Court.
