“Park & Ride: Amusement Park Design” Event for Middle School Girls to be Held at RIT
The Kate Gleason College of Engineering at Rochester Institute of Technology is set to offer a workshop entitled “Park & Ride: Amusement Park Design-—An Engineering Program for Middle School Girls” from April 15 to 17 at RIT. The two-and-a-half-day workshop will be an exciting chance for seventh and eighth grade girls to engage in hands-on activities and explore opportunities for women in the field of engineering.
As part of the activities, the girls will use Lego kits to learn more about real-world applications of engineering by studying amusement park design. The girls will be able to interact with female engineering students and faculty in a fun and comfortable environment. On Saturday, April 17, parents will have a chance to attend a panel discussion on engineering careers for women.
Registration fee is $75. To register, contact Connie LaBarre at 475-5788.
