NTID celebrated the retirement of 10 faculty and staff members Wednesday, who together have provided almost 300 years of service. Tyler Schrodt, right, and Evan McCool knew they wanted to start a longboarding business together just two weeks after meeting. In 2010, Schrodt and McCool joined forces and, using money from their savings accounts, started Enraged Panda Boarding Co. Schrodt â13 (international business and finance), is pursuing his MBA and McCool will graduate in May with a bachelorâs degree in mechanical engineering technology. -

Kelsey Buecheler is a third-year honors student in the nutrition management program in the College of Health Sciences and Technology. After she graduates in 2015, she will have to complete a yearlong dietetic internship to qualify to sit for the registered dietitian exam. Buecheler attributes the programâs high placement rate to its emphasis on real-work experience. -

Emily Himmelwright has grown to love longboarding since first starting to ride during her freshman year at RIT. Himmelwright, a second-year media arts and technology student, can make the trek from her dorm room to the academic side of campus in five minutes while riding her longboard, saving her more than 10 minutes if she were to walk to class instead. -

Ashleen Evans was shy and didnât know much sign language when she first came to RIT/NTID. Now graduating as president of the NTID Student Congress, sheâs returning to Indiana with a bachelorâs degree in accounting, a job waiting for her and knowledge about deaf culture and being a leader. -

RITâs International Student Services hosts the Naturalization/Citizenship Ceremony each year at the request of the U.S. Citizenship & Immigration Services, for individuals from across Western New York who are already scheduled to become United States citizens on this day. Almost 60 people became U.S. citizens during the ceremony on May 12 in Ingle Auditorium, including one RIT student and one faculty member. -

Rochester City Scholar Amanda Johnson majored in biomedical sciences in the College of Health Sciences and Technology. She finished classes in December but will participate in graduation in May. Twenty-seven students from the Rochester City School District qualified for the Rochester City Scholars program for the 2010 academic year, earning full-tuition scholarships.
