Undergraduate students from the Korean University of Technology and Education are participating in a two-week Electronics and Manufacturing Systems Summer Internship program Aug. 9-20 at RIT. The internship program combines workshops in electronics manufacturing, plastics processing and microelectronics with industry visits to local companies such as Eastman Kodak, SurmoTech Corp. and Infotonics Technology Center. The internship program is sponsored by the Center for Electronics Manufacturing and Assembly at RITâs College of Applied Science and Technology. -

New York State Assemblyman Joe Morelle, center, visited science camp at the Center for Bioscience Education and Technology on Aug. 6. Middle school and high school students from the surrounding area have taken advantage of a variety of weeklong bioscience camps held this summer at the center. Funding from a $2 million gift from Excellus BlueCross and BlueShield helps support the centerâs laboratories and academic and community outreach programs. Babak Elahi, associate professor of English, has been appointed associate dean of the College of Liberal Arts. Elahi will assist in the implementation of the collegeâs strategic plan and serve as an adviser to Dean Robert Ulin on academic and research issues.
