Presentation by Rolling Stone Photographer at RIT
Since 1987, more than 100 images by Seliger have appeared on the magazine’s cover. Those photos have earned him numerous honors, including the 1999 Alfred Eisenstaedt Photography Award for a Single Image, given for a portrait of Ben Stiller. Seliger’s work also steps outside the area of popular culture. His first book, When They Came to Take My Father: Voices of the Holocaust, documents the story of those who survived Nazi tyranny.
The Texas native now lives in New York City and divides his time between editorial and advertising work. He has created many campaigns for a diverse set of clients, ranging from IBM to MTV.
Seliger will be the featured speaker during a free lecture at 7 p.m., Wednesday, Apr. 25, in the Chester F. Carlson Center of Imaging Sciences auditorium on RIT’s Henrietta campus. The event is part of Fujifilm Day, presented annually by RIT’s School of Photographic Arts and Sciences. For more information, call 475-2716.
