Public Invited to RIT Annual Student Craft Sale
PHOTO OPPORTUNITY: DEC. 8 & 9
The holidays are upon us and if shopping for Mom and Aunt Marge has got you stressed out, head to Rochester Institute of Technology for some unique gifts that will have everyone smiling.
Students in RIT’s School for American Crafts will be holding their annual holiday sale from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. Thursday and Friday, Dec. 8 and 9 in the Student Alumni Union on the RIT campus. Shoppers can buy one-of-a-kind items from silver jewelry to blown glass ornaments to wood creations to ceramic bowls. All the pieces are handmade and the original work of student artists.
Many of the students, from first-year to graduate level, rely on the sale to defray costs of various projects throughout the school year. About 25 students will sell their wares. The School for American Crafts offers degree programs in the study of clay, glass, metals and wood.
