RIT ANNOUNCES 2005-06 MEN’S ICE HOCKEY SCHEDULE
“I would like to thank all the schools for accommodating us on such short notice,” said RIT Head Coach Wayne Wilson. “I’m excited about the upcoming season and particularly excited about the fact that we were able to schedule 14 home games. I’m also excited that teams like Cornell, St. Lawrence, Rensselaer and Air Force Academy were willing to put us on their schedule and help our program on its first season at the Division I level.”
RIT opens the season at Ritter Arena on Oct. 8 with an exhibition game against the University of Waterloo from Ontario, Canada. The Tigers then go on the road to compete at the Quinnipiac Tournament on Oct. 14-15 where they could face Quinnipiac, Bentley and Air Force.
RIT, a new member of the Atlantic Hockey Association, will face conference members Canisius, American International College, Sacred Heart, Air Force and Mercyhurst this upcoming season. On Oct. 21 and 22, RIT will play a home-and-home versus Canisius College. On Nov. 26, the Tigers will travel to Springfield, Mass. to face American International College and then head to Sacred Heart University on the 27th in Fairfield, Conn. RIT will face 2005 NCAA Tournament participant Mercyhurst on Feb. 3rd.
