RIT Welcomes Record Number of Employers to Spring Career Fair, March 26
225 companies and agencies to be represented
Uncertainty over the U.S. economy isn’t dampening prospects for students at Rochester Institute of Technology currently ramping up their job search.
The arena within RIT’s Gordon Field House and Activities Center will be filled to capacity as representatives from 225 employers take part in the university’s annual Spring Career Fair. The event, 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. on Wednesday, March 26, in the Gordon Field House and Activities Center, is open exclusively to RIT students and recent alumni.
Attendance at this year’s event represents a record number of employers ever taking part in RIT’s Spring Career Fair. Companies and agencies planning to be on site include RF Harris, Eastman Kodak, Xerox, IBM, Intel, Anheuser Busch, CGI, Delphi, The Pike Co., Paychex, Wegmans and Canon USA.
“Participation at this spring’s career fair continues to reflect that, even in this increasingly troubled economic climate, our students and our academic programs continue to be in demand by a wide variety of employing organizations,” states Manny Contomanolis, associate vice president for enrollment management and career services and director of RIT’s cooperative education and career services.
About 2,000 students seeking full-time and co-op positions are expected to attend the Spring Career Fair. Many participating students will be selected to return the following day or later in the quarter for interviews with interested employers.
