"Undefeated" RIT Football Sweatshirts Now Available

Just in time for the season’s first snowflakes and holiday shopping, two styles of sweatshirts featuring the phrase, "RIT Football—Undefeated Since 1978," are available from Rochester Institute of Technology’s student chapter of the Institute of Industrial Engineers.

The sweatshirts, complementing popular T-shirts previously available, pay lighthearted tribute to RIT’s last varsity football team, the 1977–78 squad that has been "undefeated" ever since.

RIT’s varsity gridiron squad played eight seasons. The Tigers were coached from 1970 through 1973 by Tom Coughlin, who’s now head coach of the National Football League’s Jacksonville Jaguars. At RIT, Coughlin led the Tigers to a 16-15-2 record.

Gray sweatshirts are available with orange or black lettering and in a variety of sizes. Cost is $20 for regular (crew neck) and $25 for hooded. T-shirts are still available for $10. Proceeds benefit educational student travel.
