Ursula Burns to Deliver Keynote Address at RIT Commencement Tomorrow

Burns, newly named Xerox CEO, will be available to media immediately after the ceremony

Ursula Burns, president and newly named chief executive officer of Xerox Corp., will present the keynote address to graduates at Rochester Institute of Technology tomorrow, May 22. The commencement ceremony takes place at 4 p.m. in RIT’s Gordon Field House and Activities Center.

Earlier today, Xerox’s board of directors named Burns as CEO following the announcement that Anne Mulcahy will retire from the post effective July 1. Burns, who joined the company in 1980, was appointed Xerox president two year ago, expanding her leadership to include the company’s IT organization, corporate strategy, human resources, corporate marketing and global accounts.

Media is welcome to attend RIT’s commencement and cover Burns’ remarks to graduates, their family and friends, and the campus community. Following the ceremony, at approximately 5:45 p.m., reporters will have a brief opportunity to speak with her directly.

Media parking is available immediately north of the Gordon Field House. Vehicles may enter that area of campus through parking lot D. Contact Paul Stella at (585) 330-6098 to coordinate logistics related to parking and post-ceremony interview location.
