The role of the Equity and Inclusion Specialist is to provide program support, professional development, and project management for the Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer (CEIO). Participate fully in the direction and support in developing, implementing, and evaluating culturally responsive approaches in TLC programs and school-community engagement and partnerships providing resources, strategies, and training to create a cultural shift for social change.

CEIO provides consulting services as needed by this position in planning activities, developing priorities and schedules, and determining how assignments are carried out. This position is expected to plan and carry out the work independently, and coordinate actions on own initiative.

SUPERVISOR: Chief Equity and Inclusion Officer- This is a new position for TLC, and the structure may evolve over time.

FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Will be working under the direct supervision of the Chief Equity & Inclusion Officer.

Coordinates activities with the TLC community and enhance inclusion for families and students.

Collaborate with the CEIO to heighten an organization climate of inclusiveness and belonging.

Serve as a liaison to TLC Programs on cross-cutting issues to ensure consistent levels of support, quality, and messaging.

Coordinate professional development activities across the TLC.

Research and analyze new or changing data trends and prepare data summaries for inclusion in a variety of EI reports on budget and other issues.

Post events to facilitate planning and prevent conflicts.

Create and distribute monthly/weekly announcements for upcoming events to TLC staff, students & families and consumers.

Provide training, resources, and collaboration to community partners around Inclusion and Belonging Provides ongoing support and coaching for staff in best practices, national research and recommendations on diversity, equity and inclusion work.

Work closely with the TLC’s Human Resource Office.

Performs other related duties as requested.

ASL Fluent
Prefer Bachelor of Arts Degree in Education, Psychology, Human Services or related field; or
4 years of experience education, human services or community development preferred
2 years experience in diversity related program or equivalent education/experiences
Must be able to created and conduct dynamic and engaging presentation for a variety audiences, display proficiency with technology
Ability to set goals, plan strategies, schedule, and coordinate work and integrate planning efforts across work units to meet organizational goals
Have experience working from social justice oriented lens
Ability to plan, schedule, and track techniques to structure and monitor the effective and efficient execution of program operations.
Strong communication skill in order to effectively enter and maintain data, prepare reports, and express findings to various levels of staff
Being resourceful in supporting groups in a variety of settings
Being forward-thinking through independent research, reading existing publications and developing knowledge in continuous pursuit of best practices
Be an effective team member by collaborating and contributing to team goals.
Ability to plan, organize, and prioritize work
Use good judgment to make decisions on recurring assignments
Display a significant degree of positive attitude, professionalism, and confidentiality
