 Requires to be fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and the ability to clearly connect with Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened, Deaf Plus clients in their preferred mode of communication.
 Strong involvement and investment in the community and nuanced understanding of Deaf, DeafBlind, Hard of Hearing, Late-Deafened, Deaf Plus culture and linguistic competencies.
The position reports directly to the Board of Directors:
 Overall administration of the agency per Board directives
 Supervision of staff
 Support to the Board of Directors
 Financial Support for the agency through grant writing, fundraising, contracts
 Participate network with DV/SV agencies
Specific responsibilities will include:
Development
 Grant research, writing and reporting and work closely with grant writers
 Pursue contracts with government agencies
 Participation in various fundraising campaigns on behalf of the agency
Financial
 Oversees annual budget development with the Board of Directors’ oversight
 Oversee all contracts and obligations (including government agencies)
 Works with bookkeeper for managing monthly billings and bookkeeping
 Assist Board of Directors with the production of fundraising events
Administration
 Recruit, hire and train new personnel
 Supervise current and future staff to include Cultural Supervisor, Cultural Broker and Victim Advocate
 Staff development
 Maintain/update employment policies
Programs
 Develop strategic planning and implementation
 Coordinate annual program planning and oversee progress through regular staff meetings
Communications
 Promote publicity for the agency on a local, state and national level
 Represent ODSC to community and organizations, donors, grantors, supporters, participants
 Promote victim advocacy as needed
Advocacy and Relationship Development
 Advocate for legislative and policy initiatives that are responsive to the needs of Deaf/Hard of Hearing and DeafBlind victims of SA/DV
 Develop, cultivate and maintain relationships with statewide and local SA/DV organizations

Minimum Qualifications and Experience:
 Bachelor level degree or higher preferred
 Basic knowledge of SV/DV preferred
 Management Experience: Minimum 5 years related management/supervisory experience
 Experience working in an environment requiring flexibility and managing change
 Strong management skills, including planning, delegating, time management and task facilitation, evidenced by experience
 Solid, hands-on, budget management skills, including budget preparation, analysis, decision-making and reporting
 Experience in strategic planning and implementation
 Demonstrated talent and experience in building resources: grant writing, solicitation of corporate support and major gifts, non-profit fundraising strategies and donor cultivation, business development
 Strong marketing and public relations skills, with the ability to engage a wide range of stakeholders and cultures
 Outstanding organizational, written and oral communications skills; attention to detail
 Experience working with Board of Directors
 Ability to work with a culturally diverse clientele and staff
 Required to be fluent in American Sign Language (ASL) and have cultural competence in Deaf culture and sign language
 Proficient computer skills and knowledge of MS Office software, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook
 Moderate travel is required; must possess a current and valid motor vehicle driver’s license and have reliable transportation
