Job Description

inABLE.org is a nonprofit organization based in Nairobi, Kenya and Washington, DC. We envision a world where Disability is NOT Inability. A community where individuals with disabilities have ACCESS to the same Educational, Technological, and Employment opportunities as the non-disabled.

Duties/responsibilities of the project
- Work with inABLE, DeafElimuPlus team to develop graphic assets and provide UI/UX input to improve the Fingerspelling Pro app.
- UI/UX/Graphic Designer Work involving:
- Developing a new logo for the app
- The Emojis/reactions for completing levels/puzzles/challenges (10 different emojis)
- Graphic Enhancements to the puzzles that involve a “countdown timer,” “badges,” and keeping “score”
- Assets for the two-handed BSL manual alphabet
- UI/UX Recommendations for future work

Requirements

Required skills / preferred skills
- At least two academic years of experience in Graphic Design, New Media Design, or related field; or equivalent professional experience
- Knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (Premiere Pro, Photoshop, Illustrator, InDesign, etc.) along with other design related software
- Looking for someone with Sign Language/ Deaf and hard of hearing perspective that can contribute to the overall purpose of this application.

- Approximate duration is two months- 100 hours’ worth of work spread out over that time period.

- 100% working remotely

- Understand the International Sign Language and Kenyan Sign Language.

- $15 per hour, negotiable depending on the qualifications of the candidate.
