We are seeking a Mental Health Practitioner I for our Deaf/Blind/Hard of Hearing programs. Our Deaf/Blind/Hard of Hearing programs provide services to adults with Serious and Persistent Mental Illness (SPMI) or a mental illness diagnosis co-occurring with a chronic medical condition. American Sign Language (ASL) is the primary mode of communication which offers our residents a strong sense of community with other deaf adults and strengthens our support activities in a culturally affirmative environment. We provide an array of individualized services to our residents to help maintain independent living in a community setting.

Hours: Full and Part time - Day, Evening, and Overnight shifts available
Location: Minneapolis, MN
Hiring Range: $18.51 - $20.83

Main Job Duties:

Creating and revising Mental Health Assessments and Service Plans for people in our program
Learning and understanding each resident's treatment plans in order to best support their goals
Documenting observations about the residents' activities and behaviors
Counseling residents through crises and supporting their development of coping skills
Coaching residents on the development of greater independent living skills
Joining residents for recreational activities
Administering medications

Required Qualifications:
Valid driver's license, excellent driving record and current auto insurance
AND EITHER
High school diploma
4,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with Mental Illness, DD, ID or TBI
OR
Has completed 30 semester credits or 45 quarter credits in behavioral science or a related field and:
Has proof of a practicum or internship that requires direct interaction with adults or children served and is focused on behavioral sciences or related fields, OR
Has 2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with Mental Illness, DD, ID or TBI
OR
Bachelor's degree in Behavioral Science or related field
Proof of a practicum or internship requiring direct interaction with adults and focusing on behavioral sciences or related fields

Preferred Qualifications: Fluent in American Sign Language (ASL)
Enrolled in or has completed an accredited Master's program in a behavioral science or related field
2,000 hours of supervised experience in the delivery of services to people with mental illness
