* *NASA Internships* has recently migrated to a new application system.

to explore academic internship opportunities and to apply. If you are a
previous applicant, please be sure to renew your password (it takes 24
hours to reset) and update your profile before you apply for an
opportunity.
* Summer 2022 applications are now being accepted. For the optimal chance
of being considered *please submit your application by March 4*. The
summer session will begin June 6.
* Fall 2022 applications are now being accepted. For the optimal chance of
being considered please submit your application by July 8. The fall
session will begin August 29.
* As the coronavirus (COVID-19) situation continues to evolve, NASA will
closely monitor and follow guidelines from federal, state and community
officials regarding on-site competitions.

* What is the deadline for applying to Summer 2022 and Fall 2022 academic
internships? The deadline for Summer 2022 will be March 4, 2022. The
deadline for Fall 2022 will be July 8, 2022.

completing their applications? All of the necessary guidance, details,
and information for completing your application can be found at

* Can NASA staff help applicants select academic internship opportunities?
No. Applicants have to look at the internship opportunities on the
<https://nasacentral.force.com/s/explore-opportunities [6]> for
internships that interest them. Internship opportunities are being added
all of the time. So, applicants need to keep checking. Students need
to open and follow the links and expand categories for detailed
information. Only they can determine what areas specifically pertain to
them. Your career path is entirely up to you.

Requirements:
* What are the eligibility requirements?
* U.S. Citizen
* Cumulative 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale)
* Full-time students (high school through graduate)
* 16 years of age at the time of application (no exceptions)
* Undergraduate and graduate students must be enrolled full-time in a
degree-granting program at an accredited college or university.
* Educators are also eligible to apply.
* What if I already graduated? You can apply as long as you will start the
internship within six months of graduation. After six months, you will
have to become enrolled in a full-time in a degree-granting program at an
accredited college or university.
* Can international students apply? All applicants must be U.S. citizens
in order to apply for an internship. More information about
opportunities for international students can be found at
www.nasa.gov/stem/international-internships-for-students.html [1]
* What is the minimum age for applicants completing an application?
Applicants must be 16 years old at the time they submit the application.
Unfortunately, there are no exceptions at this time.
* I have completed my undergraduate degree and am transitioning to graduate
school. Am I eligible during this gap period? If you have completed
your undergraduate degree and are enrolled in graduate school the
following semester, you are eligible for an internship during the gap
period.
* When will I hear if I am selected? Selections may occur any time after
you submit your application. You will be contacted if you are considered
for a project.
* Are selections made for every project? Selections are contingent upon
many factors, so some projects may remain unfilled.
