Scope of duties
Under the direction of the Camp Director shall have primary responsibility for the welfare and safety of the campers during their stay at camp.

Primary duties
Under the direction of the Camp Director:
• Adheres to master schedule that lists on-duty times and job responsibilities.
• Works cooperatively with directors, team leaders, and food service personnel in
program planning and supervision.
• Responsible to instruct, on a scheduled basis, a series of activities in a specified
area and will be responsible for a beginning and end of summer inventory in that
specific area.
• Teaches recreation, arts and crafts, leadership skills, literacy and/or socialization
activities to campers.
• Supervises campers in daily camp activities that include a variety of outdoor
activities (walking, hiking, swimming, arts and crafts).
• Encourages campers to participate in activities, makes sure they show up on
time for events.
• Takes a personal interest in every camper, encouraging each to achieve
individual and group activities.
• Be responsible for the health, safety, and personal hygiene (showers; clean, dry,
& warm clothes; etc.) of campers.
• Makes sure campers are eating well-balanced meals.
• Reports inappropriate behaviors of campers to the Camp Director.
• Refers exhausted or sick campers to the Health Director.
• Participates in and be responsible for the planning and implementation of
evening activities on a scheduled basis.
• Resides in cabin with campers and assists with overnight monitoring.
• All other duties as assigned.

Minimum requirements
• Applicants must be at least age 18.
• Must have a High School diploma or the equivalent.
• Demonstrate excellent communication skills, including fluency in American Sign
Language and be willing to use voice when necessary.
• CPR and Standard First Aid certified
• Lifeguard Training Certificate strongly encouraged
• At least one year prior experience in education, child care and/or counseling with
deaf and hard of hearing children.
• Prior camp experience preferred.
• Employment is contingent on passing a background check.
