Job Description | The Deaf Peer Support Specialist may be a Certified Peer Specialist, a Certified Addiction Recovery Coach, or a Family Partner. This position is designated for a person who identifies as having lived experience relevant to their certification and is willing to shares that experience for the benefit of the people they support and helps others to access resources and supports that will allow them full access to the community of their choice. The Deaf Peer Support Specialist reports to the Director of Recovery or the Assistant Director of Recovery. Job Description: Engage in non-judgmental, compassionate, active listening to build one-on-one connections with persons served that support a person’s preferences and emphasize the tenets of recovery. |
Requirements | Requirements: Education: High School Diploma/GED equivalent required. Bachelors Degree highly preferred. Must possess or be willing/eligible to obtain one of the following Certifications within the first six months of employment: Certified Peer Specialist (CPS), Certified Addiction Recovery Coach (CARC) within 6 months of hire or Family Partner Skills: Driver’s license preferred but not required. Must be CPR/first aid certified within three months of hire (training provided) |
