We are seeking highly motivated candidates to:
1. Participate in technical research and development, requirements validation, and use case development in support of the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) Telecommunication Relay Services (TRS) initiative.
2. Assist with hands-on testing and research activities involving VRS solutions and products.
Your role: This position provides an exciting opportunity for an intern to help develop, verify, and validate telecommunication solutions for use by the d/Deaf and Hard of Hearing community. The ideal candidate, pursuing an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Information Technologies, or similar, with an interest in systems engineering, IT development, or other similar technical disciplines, should have a basic introductory knowledge of one or more of the following: computer hardware and software, network standards, and scripting languages.
Sustained excellence in academic performance and currently pursuing an undergraduate degree in Science, Technology, Information Technologies, or similar equivalent major. Students need to be currently enrolled in classes and continue to be enrolled the following semester (Fall 2021) in a full-time in an accredited degree-seeking university program.
Fluency in American Sign Language (ASL) and written English, with effective writing and communication skills.
Experience in any one of the following technical areas: computer hardware and software, networking, or programming.
Familiarity with standard Microsoft desktop tools.
Willingness to work in a collaborative team environment.
