Job Title: ASL Crew Leader

Job Description:
The Summer Youth Corps Crew Leader (age 18-25) will add value to the
community, environment and youth participants through their dedicated
service. The ASL Crew Leader will motivate, direct, and coordinate a crew of
Deaf, hard-of-hearing, and hearing young people in a rigorous program of
work, education and training. The Crew Leader will be responsible for
maintaining consistent discipline and fostering positive crew morale by
utilizing teamwork among youth participants. The leader must ensure that they
and the crew adhere to program goals and mission. The member will work
alongside youth to set the standard and pace of work. While serving alongside
another AmeriCorps member, the crew leader will provide collaborative
leadership for the crew, ensure safety procedures are followed and serve as
the liaison with project partners.



Requirements:
- Must be a US Citizen, US National, or Lawful Permanent Resident Alien of
the US.
- Must pass the National Sex Offender Public Registry and criminal history
check defined as no positive hits on the NSOPW and no history of violent
offenses on the criminal history check.
- Must successfully pass medical review process.
- Valid driver’s license and safe driving record (no major moving
violations or DUI’s in the past five years).
- Ability to work hard in an outdoor setting in adverse conditions with
limited time off
- Desire to work with diverse youth in conservation, education and recreation
settings
- Ability to foster strong work habits, environmental ethics, youth
leadership and team unity
- Positive attitude, interest in community service and desire to make a
difference
- Advanced American Sign Language skill preferred
