Job title and work responsibilities
I work as a network operation center engineer. It’s my job to monitor both systems and network performance through a variety of network management tools and ticketing systems. I also work on operational issues by dispatching on-call engineers as needed.
How my career relates to my degree from RIT/NTID
My major in Management Information Systems included both business and computer technology, such as computer networking, programming and Web development. My co-ops in network and computer support at Citigroup in New York City, University of Michigan at Ann Arbor, and at Genesee & Wyoming Inc. in Rochester gave me real-world work credentials and helped me get my current job. My training at RIT was a definite match for a network operation engineer position.
