Job title and work responsibilities
I am a Senior Packaging Engineer involved in the medical device industry. My main responsibility is to protect the medical devices we create from contamination and damage. Currently I am involved in two large projects designed to change the package configurations used to protect packaging at my facility. On these projects I must consider different technical factors such as material, process needs, biocompatibility and marketability. I’m also involved in smaller projects designed to improve different aspects of packaging such as updating the packaging machinery, improving existing packaging processes and being actively involved with industry task forces.

How my career relates to my degree from RIT/NTID
The intensity of the courses offered by RIT prepared me for the fast-paced business environment, requiring me to perform crucial tasks and achieve the deliverables imposed by my business. The intensive content from different packaging courses gave me a strong foundation of knowledge to help me become the successful engineer I am now. In addition to academics, being a member of the RIT varsity swim team during the school year helped me learn to maintain a rigorous schedule. With the skills acquired at RIT, I am able to focus on the priority projects that promote growth in my business sector.
